Painted rocks
Welcome summer weekend.
Camera is in the shop and counting days until it comes back home.
- Not ready for the 90 degree humid weather
- watching the evening thunderstorm from the porch was cool, although it woke the kiddies.
- made strawberry jam from our first batch of hand picked berries.
here's to days off.

Toy Story is in the house
O and now V are in love with Toy Story. We have big plans to go see Toy Story 3 when it comes out on my birthday next month. yeah!
We re-painted Oliver's room including a blackboard paint for writing notes and which Orioles' player we're cheering for. O wanted Toy Story in his room and we all agreed on cloud curtains.
These clouds have me daydreaming too.

February Lady sweater
This sweater's been done for a bit but I am finally sharing.
To date, this February Lady sweater is being worn in spring. It's the first sweater I've made for myself that I have loved - from beginning to end. And now, I love wearing it. I need to remember what yarn I used. It was a pleasure making a sweater from top, down. I was cutting it close to my yarn allotment. I made a size S and lengthened the body some. Vintage buttons from stash.
YEAH to sweaters I love to wear and am proud, when complimented that I made it myself...really. Although we are suppose to be frost-free this Saturday, the weather has been chilly - more days to wear this sweater before putting it to bed for the summer.

Moments
I have so much to be thankful for. I get overwhelmed with details and not doing enough, or doing too much and not smelling the posies. And so I freeze, unable to move. I heard some sad news about a friend today. It is not fair. It makes me pause and reflect. I want to be better and enjoy every moment. I still get tears in my eyes, thanking my kids for making me a mom.

Back at it...
Gardening Apron
The joy of finishing a project. This is 'Not Your Grandmother's Gardening Apron' from You Grow Girl by Gayla Trail. I used a feedsack for body of apron, using floral fabric and ribbon from my stash. My machine had a bit of a meltdown, during craft night. It is all better. phew - lots of projects on the list.
I've given myself a halt on buying anymore fabric/yarn. I have so much to use and have fun with. First, though, I need to organize the sewing room closet. I've started a list of items that would help the sewing room/office feel more inviting. Although I don't dread working in this bit of a room, I don't find it worth staying. I've come up with too may excuses and just want to do.
Here is the current spot:
There's so many good things about it. I need to be creative on cost-efficient options. The first thing, though, is ORGANIZE. So I can find what I'm looking for rather than run out to the store to buy.

Flea Finds
Spring is in the air and so are are the flea markets. We get up early (as usual) and go on adventures. Here are some finds:
Lacoste shirt, screaming preppy and fabric (to be used for the bench cushions on our porch)
I love planters and plates. Plates and planters
Hand embroidered pillowcases. The craftsmanship in the details.
