Secret

One of my favorite features of our home is the window in the bathroom. It's a private window that no one can see inside. From the shower or bath, I just peek outside. A great way to start the day with deep breaths.

She's Juicy

For my birthday, I received a Breville JE900 Juice Fountain Professional Juice Extractor. G purchased it refurbished so totally no guilt on the expense. Yes, it is new but we are enjoying making new creations weekly. We take a look at what is in season - more like what do we have leftover from our CSA and juice.

This weeks: Peach, cucumber and basil. Yum!

New life

So, kids are in camp while I am home a few days. In typical Elizabeth-style, I find projects to tackle.

It just feels lighter and brighter in our family room. We see this project in stages. Maybe more paint and mosaic over the black.

O rosie

Meet one of our additions. It is a Golden Guinea Japanese Rose. It's great for the spot as it is to do well in shade/sun. In the summer, this plant has sporadic blooms. If this is sporadic, I'm excited and can't wait to see if in full bloom in late spring.

Caged love

They've bloomed. These Teddy Bear sunflowers are great for small spaces like our raised beds. I'm so happy to see their cheery faces. Earlier this year it was a battle between me and the slugs. Glad we won. They were kept at bay with a saucer filled with beer. I'm happy to see these seeds grow up.

On display

I'm a visual learner and lover. That comes to organization too. My necklaces have been jumbled in my drawer. I get frustrated and know I am forgetting about a necklace. Who has time to untangle especially in the morn.?

I bought a frame at a craft store and removed the glass. I covered foam board in some berry velvet I had in my stash. With sewing needles, I have hung my necklaces, in rows. My private masterpiece displayed for me in my bedroom closet. They're really beautiful, all framed.

I'm enjoying the success of this project daily. I love when a project is simple and oh so gratifying.

Lib sings the blues

Ok. So this project was my goal for JUNE Make it, Wear it Sew along from Sew, Mama, Sew. Yes, it is mid-July. I tried, really. But didn't make the deadline. Still love the skirt!

Here's the beauty, though. The classic A-line skirt seems to be my go-to skirt. I've really enjoyed Sew What! SKIRTS by Francesca Denhartog & Carole Ann Camp in the past and thought I'd give it another try. This time: Singing the Blues.

These days, I work (sew) in 30 minute chunks. Putting this skirt together was fast and fun - my best combination, these days at least. I can't recall where I picked up the fabric but is ever so cheery. I really love the rick rack pocket. A drawstring skirt is not the most flattering from behind. A little 'sack-like', if you know what I mean. But hey, it's a perfect addition to my summer wardrobe.

Flips are optional.

Heart & Hands

Our little miss turned 3 last week. How does that happen? We escaped to the Baltimore Museum of Art. We had fun playing.

Bathing in the mud

I have decided to reclaim summer. We've had a variety of detours but all will be fine. By saying it, I will make it true.

A constant flurry of projects keeps us engaged. During a weekend, G re-did the office/creative space. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE. I function better in this welcoming space.
